Bitcoin and crypto automated teller machine company Lamassu has recently revealed its new generation. After multiple years of hard work, the company has introduced three new machines comprising its “next generation” of cryptocurrency ATMs. The team has launched its new ‘Sintra’ range of cryptocurrency ATMs – the Sintra, Sintra Forte, and Douro II. All of the machines offer support for BTC, BCH, LTC, ETH, DASH, and ZEC, and lets Bitcoin ATM operators the capability to select which cryptocurrencies to allow through the machines’ back-end. Moreover, operators are able to alter charge, commissions, and agreement obligations through the back-end.
Key features of the board include a low-power ARM processor, low-heat, battery backup, OS on microSD, onboard 3G and GPS functionality, interfere sensors and alarm, NFC front door control, and the microprocessor for watchdog services and control management. The Sintra Forte comes with an internal vault, as is approximately 20 percent greater than the Sintra.
The Sintra and Sintra Forte are both two-way machines, at the same time the Douro II only enables the acquiring of cryptocurrency. Operatives of Lamassu bitcoin ATMs are obligatory to host their own servers and wallets, as there is no central Lamassu server, as stated on Bitcoin.
Presently there are roughly 3,750 crypto ATMs installed worldwide. Since 2013 Lamassu has been producing cryptocurrency ATMs when they produced their first, which was called the Bitcoin Machine. As revealed in Bitcoinist, the pricing for the new crypto ATM’s is from 5,200 EU for the inexpensive Duoro II model, to 8,900 EU for the maximum price Sintra Forte model. While Lamassu does not straightaway ease transactions on the ATM, it does offer a backend exchange trading engine that can navigate conversions to liquidity providers.
Lamassu’s engine is presently connected to BitPay, Bitstamp, Kraken, and Coinbase. As interest in Crypto continues to raise among the retail investing community, Bitcoin ATMs will likely be a key on-ramp for investors into the crypto industry.
