Visible Energy recently launched Blockduino with the aim to bring blockchain technology to machines. The startup company announced the launch of this hardware and software solution offering project at the 8-day blockchain conference titled, “San Francisco Blockchain Week.” The conference featured companies offering cutting-edge applications based on blockchain-enabled solutions.
The CEO and founder of Visible Energy, Marco Graziano stated that Blockduino is similar to Arduino for the blockchain. He stated that with his company’s solutions any type of device including electric vehicle charging stations and LED lighting, commercial air conditioning systems to vending machines can work on blockchain technology. Graziano further added that these devices can use cryptocurrency and smart contracts for the transaction and make the working of a new performance-based model of business viable using Blockduino.
At present, the hardware service model is quite expensive because the cost of micro-transactions is quite high. Also, there are so many intermediaries that extract fees during the transaction. Since the dealing is not transparent there is a lack of trust between the operators and the consumers.
Blockduino based on blockchain technologies can certainly disrupt the world’s entire economy which at present focus more on the production output (GDP) and not on utilization or performance. Blockduino will shift this economy to a more virtuous service or circular economy in which the consumers will make payment for what they are using whereas manufacturers will come up with better quality and durable products, reported Forbes.
The blockchain is the infrastructure that offered cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) a foundation to grow. Experts believe that in the days to come similar to streets and infrastructure that provide support to almost everything from school to homes and hospitals to hospitality, blockchain will also soon undergird almost everything from health care records to cryptocurrency wallets and bank accounts reported Coeur’d Alene Press.
Krambu is yet another venture dedicated to blockchain technologies developed by Travis Jank, alumni of Coeur d’Alene High School class of 2006 who teamed up with Oregon transplant’s Lawrence Sowell and formed a company in 2017. The company has been established keeping transparency as one of its core values. According to Jank, there is a lot of confusion and misinformation related to blockchain more due to the hype around virtual currencies. He added that the major difference between Krambu and other blockchain companies is that Krambu’s main focus is core transparency whereas other companies are more interested in cryptocurrencies.
