Tech giants including IBM, Dell & Intel are backing a UC San Diego-based research lab to explore blockchain innovation process and solve mysteries surrounding this technology. The big names in the sector of technology expect the research lab called BlockLab to come up with a new way of writing software.
As per the report, around 20 experts from the blockchain and another field will try to find solutions to technical, business, and legal questions surrounding the latest big revolution in technology. Blockchain revolutionary concept has attracted many companies and industrial ventures and many experts believe that it is one of the foundational ways of exchanging information without any need for a middleman.
In the days to come, blockchain will make monetary transactions through software possible which will just eliminate the need for a bank. These transactions will be recorded and verified across hundreds of computers and servers thereby enhancing the level of transparency and authenticity.
Many startups and companies are trying to unveil the potential of blockchain innovation process by coming up with its new usages every day from transacting purchases in real estate, recording location data to establishing virtual identity systems, reported Government Technology. According to de Bruin, the founder of 7 CTOs, a tech leadership group, “The internet incubated for 10 or 15 years before we found something useful for it. Now we live in the information society, so we’re all a part of the blockchain conversation.”
The primary goal of BlockLab to define, evaluate and report on the business, managerial, and core technical questions in the DLT and blockchain technologies. Its potential for introducing noteworthy disruption in the core sectors of industries and more, according to Center for Large Scale Data Systems.
The San Diego Supercomputer Center’s co-founder of the Center for Large-Scale Data Systems, James Short, stated that the blockchain technology and related innovation process is in the early stages, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. The lead scientist serving as the director of the research group said that right now there is very limited understanding of blockchain technology’s implication and the group wants to understand and contribute towards moving forward.
